Snapchat announces dynamic story feature: Everything you need to know

Snapchat has announced a new feature called Dynamic Stories for its users. The new feature brings news updates and other information to the app discovery feed. This will help users stay aware of what is happening in the world around them while using the application itself.

The news stories themselves will be created from content created by proven media publishers. “Snapchat does not offer an unmoderated open news feed where unverified individuals or publishers can broadcast false and misleading information to a large audience. Discover includes only content from proven media publishers and content creators, “the platform said in a press release.

Snapchat is currently testing the feature in India, along with other regions such as France, the United States and the United Kingdom. Dynamic Stories is also expected to come to more countries later. These stories will be available in English, Hindi and Marathi. The platform is also reportedly working on adding more local languages to the mix.

Content partners in India and other regions

In India, Dynamic Stories will extract its content from media partner RSS feeds to create stories. This will be content that has already been generated on the web, so don’t expect the fastest updates here. For now, content from publishers such as GQ India, MissMalini, Pinkvilla, Sportskeeda, The Quint, Times Now and Vogue India will be used to generate dynamic stories.

In the US, meanwhile, the platform will extract content from Axios, Bloomberg, CNN, Complex Networks, Condé Nast (Self, Vogue), ESPN, Insider, New York Post, Page Six, Self, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, TMZ, Vice and Vogue.

In France, the app is partnering with Femme Actuelle, Foot Mercato, Gala, GQ France, Le Figaro, Marie Claire FR, Paris Match and Vogue France, while in the UK Snapchat is partnering with British Vogue, GQ UK, The Independent, and The Mirror.
