Ten Hag reaches ORAL agreement, Haaland rejects transfer of Red Devils, latest Cristiano Ronaldo

“Angry” Ronaldo said to set a better example

United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticized for his “irritating” behavior at Goodison Park.

Ronaldo made headlines on Saturday after United’s 1-0 loss to Everton when he allegedly pulled a mobile phone from the hand of a Toffees teenager as he limped down the tunnel.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan criticized the attitude of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and demanded that he buy a new phone for 14-year-old Jake Harding.

However, Jordan believes that the Portuguese captain should not face police action after the incident.

Jordan told talkSPORT: “I think we need to be careful about using the word attack. What you’ve seen is a player who behaves irritably … we have to be careful how we categorize things.

“It was inappropriate for Ronaldo, in whatever form or peak he was, whatever he was not used to. He is not used to playing in teams that lose in the way of Manchester United, he has not played his career in teams that lose that way, but he has time to get used to it.

“You never get used to being a loser if you’ve been a winner all your life, do you?” So his behavior is unacceptable. He must absolutely apologize. He has to buy the child a new phone. These are things you should want to do because you ended up behaving badly for a moment.

“But to attack and to get some idea that the players are deteriorating the game’s reputation, I think that stretches it a bit.

“This is a player who reacted badly, who probably didn’t even focus on what he was doing, he probably just pushed him away, and in the end, what happened was that a child’s phone was pushed to the floor.

“There is no excuse when someone is so iconic in people’s minds.”
