Three people believed by police to be directly involved in the shooting have been charged with a combined 15 counts of attempted murder, Windsor police said in a press release Tuesday.
A fourth man, who police also believe was directly involved in the shooting, has not been identified and is “armed and dangerous,” officials said. He is described as a man, between 5’2 and 5’5 “tall and 150 pounds, wearing a blue LA Dodgers baseball cap, a gray hood and a brown coat with black sleeves.
“We acknowledge the concerns of the general community about what happened in this case,” said Acting Chief Jason Beller. “I would especially like to assure those living in the Forest Glade area that the Windsor Police Department has heard these concerns and we are responding.

Meloche also faces additional charges of violating probation, a release order and a gun ban.
Police said they believe the shooting stemmed from a brawl at the Super Bowl Lanes, a bowling alley in the east end, on Friday night. Five people, including a passer-by, were shot shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday morning. The shooting is believed to have been targeted and not gang-related, Crowley said.
Since then, all the victims have been released from the hospital, said Superintendent Jason Crowley – although police have “not received the co-operation we had hoped for” from the victims, but noted that this is not uncommon.

“The dispute happened in the Super Bowl, we don’t know what started it at the moment,” Crowley said. “It spilled in the parking lot at closing time and then we had a shooting.”
Police said they believed a firearm was involved, but declined to say whether the suspected shooter was among those arrested or still at large, citing an ongoing investigation. The firearm was not found, he added.
“At the moment, we will not say who we think is the shooter for the purposes of the investigation,” Crowley said. “We blamed all those arrested for their involvement in the incident.
“If you know anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, please contact us… we are looking to arrest this gentleman here and close it all,” he added.

In addition to three people involved in the shooting, police have charged two 21-year-old men with complicity in an attempted murder. Officials said the two were in a vehicle with two people involved in the shooting during their arrest. They were not named by the police.
This year, there has been a slight increase in gun calls in the Windsor area, with an average of 1.67 shooting incidents per month (including both people and property) compared to an average of 1.33 monthly incidents per month over the past five years. .
“The slightest increase, but still an increase, and that affects us,” Crowley said.
“This is a deliberate incident and certainly not typical of Forest Glade or any community in our community,” Crowley said. “We are investing enough resources, and as the boss said the other day, there are no limited resources at the moment.”
