Johnny Depp’s friend Isaac Baruch cries in a stand during Amber Heard’s defamation trial
The multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit against Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard continues in Virginia. The court heard actor Kristi Dembrowski’s sister, who also acted in part as his business manager, and his artist friend and neighbor Isaac Baruch, who gave particularly colorful and emotional testimony.
Depp claims that a 2018 article written by Hurd in The Washington Post – in which she talks about domestic violence against women – suggests that Depp, her ex-husband, was a rapist.
Although the 35-year-old did not name the actor, Depp’s lawyers say Hurd’s allegations made it difficult for the 58-year-old to get roles he had previously played.
Depp is known for his roles in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Hurd appears in titles including Aquaman and Drive Angry.
He is seeking $ 50 million (£ 38.2 million) in damages during a trial in Fairfax County Court. Hurd, meanwhile, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Depp, whom she divorced in 2017, for annoyance.
Earlier, Depp lost a defamation lawsuit in the United Kingdom against the British newspaper The Sun over allegations in Hurd’s 2018 article.

Patterson was asked about the “fake strike” footage and said it was never requested by any of the legal teams at the time and was therefore not copied and preserved.
He does recall footage of one of the women seen with Hurd pretending to punch her in the face, but reiterating that, to his knowledge, he was not reproduced as one of 87 videos chosen by lawyers for both countries.
Patterson also says he doesn’t remember Hurd having any injuries at the time.

Isaac Baruch was called to testify Wednesday (April 13th) in Fairfax, Virginia. He took the position after cross-examination of Mr Depp’s sister, Christy Dembrowski.
Mr Baruch said he first met Mr Depp when they were both teenagers in Florida playing in groups. He testified for several hours, giving colorful testimonies that sometimes elicited smiles and laughter from others in the courtroom – including Mr Depp and Ms Hurd themselves.
