Michael Misa has been granted exclusive status and will be eligible for the 2022 OHL Priority Choice.
Misa is the sixth OHL player to join John Tavares, Aaron Ekblad, Connor McDavid, Sean Day and Shane Wright. The priority choice in Ontario is April 29.
According to the CHL, “Outstanding Player Status is given to a player whose qualities not only on the ice but also as a person are considered a player who deserves the rare privilege of participating in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) at an early age. “
The decision was announced Thursday by a group of members of the Hockey Federation of Ontario and Canada’s Hockey Federation, who assessed Misa’s hockey and academic records while assessing his level of maturity to move to major youth hockey.

The 15-year-old scored 16 goals and 43 points in 27 games with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA in the GTHL regular season. He also broke Connor McDavid’s record in the OHL Cup after scoring 21 points in seven games and being named MVP of the tournament.
