Meanwhile, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has already sold 40 million copies. The entire Witcher series has displaced 65 million + units since the series’ debut in 2007. The Witcher 3 version for the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S was recently postponed indefinitely after CD Projekt Red took over from Saber.

Especially for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubovic said the company believes in the “long-term potential” of the game, despite its poor start. In 2021, the company focused mainly on improving the game. Now the studio is “satisfied” with the state of the game and encouraged by the response to the newly launched version of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, it says. Expansion is coming.

In terms of specific figures, CD Projekt generated PLN 888 million ($ 207 million) in revenue and profit of PLN 209 million ($ 49 million) in 2021. These figures are significantly lower than the 2020 figures, which include 2 , PLN 14 billion ($ 500 million) in revenue and PLN 1.15 billion (USD 268 million) in profit, but this makes sense given the impact of the launch of Cyberpunk 2077.

“In recent years, we have built a solid financial foundation that guarantees our independence and allows our group to continue to grow,” the company said.

As for upcoming projects, CD Projekt is currently developing Witcher’s next game, which will run on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5. For more, see the GameSpot overview for all Unreal Engine 5 games below.
