Harry and Megan met in Europe together for the first time after retiring as senior members of the royal government at Invictus Games | United Kingdom news

Harry and Megan appeared in public together in Europe for the first time since retiring as senior royalty more than two years ago.

The couple arrived at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands on Friday after stopping in the UK to visit the Queen and Prince Charles on Thursday.

The Duke and Duchess visited Her Majesty and the Prince of Wales after arriving from the United States.

The couple has not been seen publicly on this side of the Atlantic together since 2020.

Harry and Megan were spotted walking to a warm-up party for friends and family at the Zuiderpark in The Hague, where the Invictus Games are being held for a week from tomorrow.

They were photographed and filmed by about 50 media representatives before entering the reception hand in hand.

Invictus Games was the place where Harry and Megan chose to make their first public appearance together almost five years ago.

Harry founded the Games to help rehabilitate wounded or sick soldiers and veterans from around the world by challenging them to compete in Paralympic-like sporting events.

A film crew is expected to join the couple as part of the filming of the Netflix series called Heart Of Invictus.

Megan’s presence in the first few days of this year’s games was confirmed by a spokesman for the couple on Monday.

Her trip to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands is her first in Europe since leaving as senior royal king in 2020.

Harry returned from California without Megan, who was seriously pregnant at the time, to attend her grandfather’s funeral in Windsor in April 2021.

He recently returned to the United Kingdom to unveil a statue of his late mother Diana on July 1, 2021 with the Duke of Cambridge.

However, Harry and Megan were absent from the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service in London last month.

Harry is suing the Home Office after he was told he would no longer receive the same level of personal protection when visiting the United States, although he offered to pay for it himself.

The duke wants to bring his children to visit, but he and his family “cannot return to his home” because it is too dangerous, his legal representative said.

A spokesman for Harry confirmed earlier in March that he would miss the service for his grandfather, but hopes to visit the queen soon.

A spokesman for the couple confirmed on Thursday night that they had visited Her Majesty.

This came after Buckingham Palace said the Queen would not attend the traditional Easter service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Her Majesty, who is due to celebrate her 96th birthday next week, is experiencing mobility problems.
