Joe Biden was left empty-handed as he seemed to shake hands airlessly after a speech on the ongoing problems of the United States supply chain.
The 79-year-old president had just finished delivering a nearly 40-minute speech in Greensboro, North Carolina, when he turned right and held out his hand, even though he was alone on stage.
A number of his political opponents, including Republican Senator Ted Cruz, have taken advantage of Mr Biden’s latest blunder, using it to question his cognitive state.
Footage from the moment, shared by millions on social media, shows the pro-blunder president turning to the right before appearing to say something in the empty space as he mimics a handshake.
Mr. Biden then addressed his audience, looking disoriented as assistants and guests at the university applauded his speech.
