Liev Schreiber is helping to provide some much-needed hot meals for Ukrainian refugees abroad, just in time for Easter, which begins on Friday night.
The actor is currently in Prezmsyl, Poland, working with the World Central Kitchen (WCK) to feed refugees displaced by the war in Ukraine. In a short video posted on his Instagram, the 54-year-old describes the “traditional Easter holiday” in which he helped serve as one of the organization’s volunteers.
“I have an exciting message to make. “In honor of Easter, we will cook 900 kilograms of breasts,” Schreiber said during his lunch break.
The Ray Donovan star was sitting outside with fellow volunteer chef Mark Murphy and Ideal Management President Ace Liechtenstein, whom he introduced during the video. He also expressed his gratitude to anyone who helped fund WCK’s assistance efforts.
“Thank you very much to everyone who donated,” he said. “Have an amazing Easter. Have an amazing Easter.”

Earlier in the week, the actor posted several videos and photos of himself preparing food, including a shot of the “cutting blister” he received.

Schreiber shared his photo on the spot on his first day earlier this week, calling WCK “the rock star’s NGO that serves and feeds those who have lost almost everything.”
Renowned chef Jose Andres is the driving force behind WCK, and the non-profit organization quickly mobilized after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, creating mobile kitchens on the Ukrainian border and near transit centers.

According to an Instagram post on WCK earlier this week, the organization’s chefs and restaurants have served more than 9 million dishes to refugees since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In addition to providing assistance directly to Ukraine and Poland, the global organization also provides support to Ukrainian refugees in Spain.
In previous years, WCK has also stepped in to feed the victims of wildfires in California, to support New Orleans residents after Hurricane Ida, to help Puerto Ricans after a major hurricane, and more.
