EL PASO, Texas – A 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested Wednesday in the deadly multiple I-10 crash at Hawkins.
Police say Saul Miguel Gutierrez of Horizon was driving a Corvette that lost control and hit the central median.
Investigators say Kayla Nunes of Chaparral was driving a Tahoe that crashed into the back of a Pontiac Vibe.
The impact of this collision caused the Pontiac Vibe to lose control, hit a cement barrier and explode into flames.
Police said both drivers were driving at over 110 mph at the time of the crash.
On Monday, ABC-7 spoke to a woman who said her brother had died in the crash. Yvonne Delgado identifies the driver as Raymond Barron.
Police said the victim’s identity has not yet been established. Delgado said the body was so badly burned that it could not be recognized.
Police said there was a 23-year-old passenger in the Corvette. He was identified as Javier Lecho from El Paso.
Police said there was a 16-year-old man in Tahoe. The identity of the passenger has not been revealed.
Gutierrez and Nunes remain in prison. Both face two charges, manslaughter and an accident involving death. Their bonds amount to $ 1.6 million each.
