Vidal, 41, has lived in Alberta since serving his eight-year sentence for convictions in British Columbia of a violent home invasion in 2013 in the Fraser Valley.

Last summer, he posted on his Facebook page that he was married in Edmonton.

Edmonton Police Department initially declined to comment on Wednesday when Postmedia asked about Vidal, who was shot to death in the city. But on Thursday night, EPS issued a press release confirming that the BC man had been shot dead Tuesday night in the Edgemont Way area and Erasmus Crescent and Erasmus Wynd.

Investigators are looking to talk to witnesses who saw a silver 2015 Subaru Outback in the area between 7pm on April 12th and 4:30am on April 13th.

The press release also said that the police “responded to the signal for an injured man in a house in the area” and found him dead in the front garage.

Vidal, a longtime criminal who lived in Chiliwak before his last conviction, was close to Hells Angels collaborator Clayton Echeler and had previously been linked to the Red Scorpions and independent soldiers before the changes in these gangs.

Vidal’s younger brother James, then 33, was shot dead in Chiliwak on March 10, 2019 at around 6:30 PM in block 45700 on Alexander Avenue. No one has been charged with murder.

The judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, who last convicted Curtis Vidal in February 2016, noted that at that time he had 55 sentences over a period of 20 years.

Judge Brian Joyce said Vidal, who was born in Surrey before moving to Chiliwak as a teenager, “had a turbulent childhood. He has been involved in the criminal justice system since 1995 as a young man. “

Joyce also sentenced Vidal in 2009 to three and a half years in prison after shooting Barrett in his own vehicle after a fight with his then-girlfriend.

“He was then involved in a police chase on the streets of downtown Chiliwak,” Joyce wrote. “The police chase ended when Mr Vidal jumped out of the jeep while still driving. The jeep continued down the street for a short distance before crashing into an apartment building. Mr Vidal fled the scene and fled from the police. Police found a loaded 9 mm Beretta pistol in the jeep, from which they were able to extract Mr Vidal’s DNA. “

Before leaving British Columbia, Vidal was in conflict with members of the UN gang.
