The level of coronavirus infection continues to decline throughout Manchester

The rate of coronavirus infections continues to decline in all 10 districts of Greater Manchester. A total of 8,479 people tested positive for covid across the region during the week ending April 10.

This is a decrease of 5338 cases compared to the previous seven days, which means that the infection rate decreased by 39 percent of the week. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is already 299.0 cases per 100,000 population.

The average value for the country is 403.8. Trafford, which has 394.8 cases per 100,000 people, still has the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester. The lowest is Manchester, where the rate is 234.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Admission to hospital

In the week ending April 10, a total of 715 patients were admitted to NHS hospitals in Greater Manchester with Covid-19. That’s 86 less than the previous week, down 14 percent. On Tuesday, April 12, there were 16 mechanically ventilated (MV) beds occupied by Covid patients at NHS hospitals in Greater Manchester. That’s two more than a week earlier. These are the latest available data on hospital admissions, NHS trust figures are not updated daily.

Death cases

In the week ending April 10, a total of 49 people died within 28 days of a positive Covid test in Greater Manchester, one more than the week before. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 975,618 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Greater Manchester. There are a total of 9057 deaths.

Cases reported in each of the 10 districts

IN Bolton , the number of cases decreased by 40 percent compared to the previous week, leaving the infection at 257.4 cases per 100,000 population. In the week ending April 10, there were 742 positive tests for Covid-19, which is 502 less than the previous seven days.

Wigan registered 1,081 cases of coronavirus, which is 571 less than the previous seven days. The latest Wigan infection rate is 326.9 cases per 100,000 people. This is a drop of 35 percent of the week.

There was a drop of 33 percent in the cases in Rochdale in the week ending April 10, and the infection is already 278.1 cases per 100,000 population. Rochdale recorded 622 positive tests for Covid-19 over the seven-day period. This is 310 less than the previous week.

Manchester , which has the lowest infection rate in the region, registered 1,305 positive tests for Covid-19 in the week ending April 10, down 1,152 from the previous seven days. The coronavirus infection rate in Manchester is now 234.8 cases per 100,000 people and is down 47 percent from the week.

There were 1,094 positive tests in the last week Stockport , which is 643 less than the previous week. The week-on-week trend in Stockport is down 37 percent, and the latest infection rate is 371.9 cases per 100,000 people.

Cases are also falling Oldham , where the latest infection rate is 245.3 cases per 100,000 people. 583 cases were registered in Oldham, which is 303 less than in the previous week – a drop of 34 percent.

IN Bury the last infection rate was 331.9 cases per 100,000 people, and the number of cases decreased by 33 percent. A total of 633 people tested positive for Covid in Bury in the seven days ending April 10, down 316 from the previous week.

Tameside registered a total of 674 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 555 less than the previous week. This is a drop of 45 percent. At Tameside, the latest coronavirus infection rate is already 296.8 cases per 100,000 people.

There were 807 positive tests for Covid-19 Salford the week ending April 10, which is 505 less than the previous seven days. This is 38% less than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 307.2 cases per 100,000 people.
