Prince Harry and Megan Markle met with Queen Elizabeth in Windsor on their way to The Hague for the Invictus Games.
They also met with Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla before leaving the United Kingdom.
A spokesman for the couple said they had visited the “duke’s grandmother” – as Harry said he hoped.
The spokesman confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had traveled to the United Kingdom on their way to The Hague to attend the Invictus Games.
Harry and Megan saw the Queen then – which was scheduled in her diary. They also saw Prince Charles and Camilla at Windsor Castle after the Royal Maundy service today.
A senior royal correspondent said Harry had not seen his brother Prince William during his lightning trip to the United Kingdom. It was not clear why a meeting could not take place between the two brothers, who last met at the unveiling of the statue of Princess Diana.
British media and royal fans are already speculating about Harry and Megan’s visit and why the Duke of Sussex has not seen his brother.
The visit came after Prince Charles and the Duchess of Camilla took on the role of Queen of the Royal Maundy Service at Windsor Castle.
Harry and Megan have not been in the UK since leaving the royal family in March 2020.
Harry recently said – when he retired from the service of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Thanksgiving – that he would see his grandmother the Queen at the earliest opportunity.
