An Ottawa man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of an elderly man at a Smith Road home.
Philip Hebert of Ottawa, 69, appeared in court Saturday morning and was remanded in custody.
Ottawa police were called to a Smith Road home between Hague and Saunderson shops around 3 p.m. Friday. Investigators remained at the scene on Saturday.
The victim was identified as 87-year-old Richard Rushford of Ottawa.
