Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in a home in southwestern Calgary.
The Calgary Fire Department was called to the scene at the Woodfield Crescent SW home shortly after noon on Friday.
When the crews arrived, they found smoke coming out of the basement of the two-story house and worked quickly to control the fire.
“They did it pretty quickly,” said District Chief Martin Keefe. “They started with a transitional attack from outside. It was completely involved, so there was no entry at first, but when we arrived after the fire, we were able to enter and check further.”
The owners were not inside when the fire broke out and no one was injured.
The cause is being investigated.
