Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a TTC bus in North York on Saturday morning.
Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit in the Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East area around 8:40 p.m.
“As you can see behind me, the TTC bus has some damage to the windshield. There were police officers who found an elderly man who had some injuries in his upper body,” said a sergeant. Nicholas Lawson said on the spot.
The pedestrian was found unconscious, but was revived shortly afterwards, police said.
The man, in his 20s, was transported to hospital in serious condition, without danger to life.
The cause of the collision is unknown.
“We have no witnesses to say that they witnessed what actually happened. So this will be investigated. We will look for video from the bus and survey the area for any video surveillance that may have captured what happened, “Lawson said.
He added that there were approximately seven passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.
The area was closed for investigation, but then reopened.
Police are asking anyone who has information or recordings from the camera to contact them anonymously or with Crime Stoppers.
