Teenager dies from injuries after attack: EPS

A teenager who was attacked in front of McNally High School in Edmonton earlier this month has died.

At around 14:44 on April 8, EPS responded to a signal for an attack outside the school. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old man in danger.

The teenager was taken to hospital after police, fire and rescue services provided first aid on the spot. He died on Friday, police said.

The investigation is being handled by the EPS homicide unit.

Police said “several young suspects have been identified and more information will be available.”

The autopsy is scheduled for April 20.

“This tragedy has affected so many people, but this is not a time for anger or hatred – this is a time for sorrow and healing as a community,” said a staff sergeant. Colin Litham.

“Our crime and trauma support team is working with the Edmonton Public Schools Board to offer support to anyone affected.
