DA: 3 out of 6 people killed in a Sacramento shooting were in a gangster dispute

New court documents in the Sacramento Center shooting, which killed six people and injured a dozen others, reveal that three of those killed were involved in the gangster dispute that led to the mass shooting, with at least one of them firing a gun.

Documents filed Friday by the Sacramento County Attorney’s Office, Anne Marie Schubert, show that the three dead gang-related men are Joshua Hoye-Luquezi, 32, Devasia Turner, 29, and Sergio Harris, 38, The Sacramento reported. Bee on Saturday.

Turner fired, but it was unclear if all three fired. Police say there are at least five suspects in the April 3rd shooting.

Two of the suspects – brothers Smiley and Dandrae Martin – were injured and hospitalized or imprisoned. A third suspect, 27-year-old Mtula Peyton, remains at large.

In a video on social media posted hours before the shooting, the Martin brothers are seen posing with Hoye-Lucchezi and two pistols and a rifle. In the video, Hoye-Lucchezi and Smiley Martin, 27, say they go downtown while armed to wander outside nightclubs and “brag about shooting at rival gang members,” according to a 13-page document. .

In the video, both Hoye-Luquez and Smiley Martin are loyal to Garden Blocc Crips.

Later, footage from downtown Sacramento on April 3 at 1:57 a.m. showed a man next to Smiley Martin pointing in the direction of Peyton and Turner, according to documents. Authorities say they are both members of rival rival band G-Mobb.

Seconds later, Peyton and Turner began approaching the corner where brothers Martin and Hoye-Lucchezi were standing, court documents said. Peyton and Turner are joined by Sergio Harris, identified in documents as a member of the allied gang Del Paso Heights Bloods.

Shortly after 2 a.m., Smiley Martin was seen exchanging shootings with Devasia Turner, the documents said.

Hoye-Lucchezi, Turner, and Harris were killed, along with Jontaia Alexander, 21; Melinda Davis, 57; and Jamile Martinez-Andrade, 21.

Deputy District Attorney Brad Ng has filed documents to make sure that Smiley Martin, who is hospitalized, will not be released on bail after being placed in the Sacramento County Jail, Bee reported. Authorities plan to charge him with being a criminal, gunman and carrying a machine gun that night.

Martin reportedly fired 28 rounds from a Glock 19 pistol, and others returned fire until more than 100 shell casings hit the streets, according to court documents.

Dandre Martin, 26, is in jail on arms charges but has not been charged with murder.
