It’s hard to remember such an open landscape of the NBA playoffs as the one that means making predictions is even harder than usual. The Phoenix Suns with 64 wins are the favorites to leave the Western Conference, but there are several teams such as the Golden State Warriors with blue blood and the new Memphis Grizzlies, ready to ruin their journey.
For the first time in years, the Eastern Conference has a number of teams that seem capable of winning the title, from top-ranked Miami Heat in the second half to the Boston Celtics to defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. And then there’s the Brooklyn Nets, once the title favorite, with one of the NBA’s most experienced offensive duos, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

The Dallas Mavericks were a vile choice for the NBA Finals, but now they may not be able to get out of the first round due to a calf injury to Luka Doncic, which will last him at least in Game 1 of their opening series against Jazz Utah.
