The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. and stemmed from a large party at a short-term rental property where about 200 people gathered, a Pittsburgh press release said. Many of those present at the party are minors, the statement said.
As officers responded to the scene on Suismon Street on Madison Avenue, they saw several young people fleeing the area, officials said.
“About 50 rounds of ammunition were fired inside, prompting some partygoers to jump out of windows, injuring them with broken bones and tears. Several more shots were fired outside the home, “the press release said.
The two dead were minors, city officials said.
Investigators are gathering evidence from eight separate crime scenes, officials said.
