SNL brings out Dr. Fauci, Marjorie Taylor Green and Trump for Easter messages

“Hello everyone! It’s really me, the Easter Bunny, “said Bowen Young in bunny clothes during the cold opening of the episode. “Either that, or you’re in Coachella and the mushrooms begin.”

Young’s Easter Bunny said this weekend was Easter, “or warm Halloween,” and while he may not be the “holiday character,” he’s the “weirdest.”

“A bunny the size of a man without a background,” he said. “Who is he?!”

The Easter Bunny then explained that the spirit of the holiday is renewal, so he invited guests from “all walks of life to share their hopes for this Easter season.”

The first was Dr. Anthony Fauci, played by Kate McKinnon.

“Believe me, I’m not here to give you more guidance on Covid. I’m not stupid enough to think you’re going to follow them, “said Fauci of McKinnon. “All I’m going to say is that Covid’s cases are a lot like Jesus – they have risen again!”

The next guest was the representative Marjorie Taylor Green, played by Cecily Strong, holding a chocolate AR-15.

“Don’t worry, this rifle is chocolate, but the bullets are real,” she said. “Happy Easter and God bless Russia – I mean America. Both, right?”

Another special guest was a man with a beard and long hair.

“Hey, it’s me, Jesus Christ,” the man said. “I’m kidding, I’m Jared Leto.”

Summer, played by Kyle Mooney, said his message was “positivity.”

“So if you go to see my new movie Morbius, please don’t watch it,” he said. “If you’re a movie reviewer, Morbius just isn’t for you.” The last special guest was former President Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson.

“Easter is a time for a basket, it’s time for a bunny and, frankly, a hat,” Trump told Johnson. “And let’s not forget the egg.”

The former Austin president then went on to talk about Reese’s eggs, Cap’n Crunch and berries.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Ian’s Easter Bunny asked.

Then Trump told Johnson that he really said Covid would be done by Easter.

“I just didn’t say which one, did I?” he said. “So say it to me, everyone! Happy Easter!”

Then he and the other special guests said the show’s opening phrase: “Live … From New York! It’s Saturday night!”
