The Columbia Police Department has announced the arrest of 22-year-old Jewey M. Price, who was one of three people initially detained by law enforcement as a person of interest in the mall shooting. Price is expected to have a hearing at 2pm on Sunday on charges of illegal pistol carrying. It is not immediately clear whether Price has a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
Police say the 73-year-old victim continues to receive medical treatment, but other victims have been released from local hospitals or will be released soon.
