A man died Sunday morning after his SUV came off the side of a bridge in Duken.
According to Allegheny County Police, the Thompson Run Bridge crash was reported shortly before 11am.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the man as David Judy of West Mifflin. He died on the spot.
Police said Judy’s 2016 Toyota 4Runner was traveling at high speed when it hit a curb, crossed the centerline and exited the bridge.
Only one car was involved. Judy was alone in the car, police said.
Police were awaiting the autopsy results.
Traffic on the bridge was stopped while police conducted an inspection. The crews left the scene at about 2 p.m., according to West Mifflin No. 2 Volunteer Fire Co.
The fire department said the sidewalk would remain closed pending repairs.
