A winter wave is expected for the London-Middlesex region on Monday

It may be spring and tulips are trying to bloom, but winter is not over with the London area.

According to Environment Canada, a winter travel warning is currently in force for London – Parkhill – East Middlesex and Stratroy – Comoca – West Middlesex.

The forecast predicts between 4 and 8 cm of snowfall on Monday – at times heavy – with the potential for reduced visibility at times, with winds of 20 km / h and a maximum temperature of 4 ° C. Accumulation of snowfall in London, Ont. is estimated at 5 cm.

Environment Canada says rainfall will start as rain and then quickly turn to snow on Monday. Above sub-zero temperatures at the beginning of the day can limit the amount of snow accumulation.

The snow is expected to end late Monday night and be cloudy, with a 40% chance of precipitation and a low of around zero degrees. The wind will be stable up to 20 km / h. At night, the accumulation of snow for London is estimated at 2 cm.

On Tuesday, Environment Canada called for cloudy skies that would turn to a chance of rain or rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will be around zero degrees with a minimum of -4C. The wind will be constant at a speed of about 40 km / h and gusts up to 70 km / h before weakening.

As visibility and road conditions are expected to be affected, Environment Canada is urging drivers to be extra careful.
