A woman was injured after being pushed into the subway tracks at Bloor-Yonge Station

A woman was hospitalized after being pushed into the subway tracks at Bloor-Yonge Station on Sunday night, Toronto police said.

Ambulances were called to the area shortly after 9 p.m. ET

Police said the injured woman was rushed to a trauma center.

Police tweeted that the woman was hit by a train, but later said the information was incorrect.

A police spokesman told CBC News that the woman was “conscious and breathing” and her condition was considered stable.

The suspect, a woman, has escaped and was last seen heading west on Bloor Street, police said.

She was wearing a pink or gray hat, a lush black jacket, a gray hood and black pants, and a red bag.
