Police were given more time to question a 60-year-old man about Alison Nelson’s death in Ko Antrim over the weekend.
Mrs. Nelson, 64, was found stabbed in a property in Whitehead on Saturday.
Police, paramedics from the Northern Ireland Ambulance and the Air Ambulance were called to Ms Nelson’s house on Victoria Avenue at around 6:10 p.m.

The victim, a much-loved mother and grandmother, was pronounced dead on the spot.
Ms. Nelson has lived in the area for many years and was a popular member of the local community with her entire family.
Understandably, the arrested man knew the victim, and police said they were not looking for other suspects.
On Monday, detectives from PSNI’s main investigation team were granted a 36-hour extension of the trial to question the man.
Detective Inspector Foreman said: “Officers were present, along with colleagues from the emergency services. Unfortunately, Ms. Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A man arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday remains in police custody today.
As part of our investigation, we would contact anyone who has been to the Victoria Avenue, Edward Road, Balmoral Avenue, Kings Road or Islandmagee Road area on Saturday, April 16, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. there is a recording from the camera, or who has premises in this area with video surveillance to contact us on tel. 101, quoting reference number 1502 from 16/04/22. ”
