At least one of the Browns’ first-round elections in 2018 will be with the team in 2022 and beyond.

Cornerback Denzel Ward has agreed to a five-year contract extension for $ 100.5 million with a guaranteed $ 71.25 million, according to numerous reports.

With the new deal, Ward is already becoming the highest paid cornerback in the history of the league.

Ward was the №4 overall pick for the Browns in 2018, just three places behind quarterback Baker Mayfield. Since then, Ward has been an integral part of Cleveland’s defense, although he misses games every season due to injury.

He was a professional bowler for the second time in 2021, recording three interceptions, 10 protected passes, a loss grip and a half-shot.

In total, Ward has played in 52 games with 51 starts. He caught 10 interceptions, recorded 50 protected passes, two forced football and three football returns.

Ward already has a contract for the 2027 season.
