An “extremely dangerous” teenager who was convicted of killing his mother in 2017 has been arrested after fleeing a house in California last week, officials said Sunday.
Ike Souser, 18, took off his electronic watch bracelet hours after being moved to a Santa Ana home by half of Theo Lacy Facility in Orange on Wednesday, according to the Orange County Attorney’s Office.
He was arrested at a homeless camp in Anaheim on Sunday by undercover investigators, DA spokesman Kimberly Eds told The Post.
He is currently being held at the city jail in Santa Ana. He is expected to be indicted on Tuesday, but it is unclear whether he will be in a juvenile court or a regular court, as he has been serving a sentence for juvenile delinquency, Eb said.
Souser – described as a high-profile teenager with autism in the city of Garden Grove – was convicted of killing his mother, 48-year-old Barbara Shoyer-Souser, when she was just 13 years old. He stabbed her several times with a knife and then left her on the ground in front of their house to die.
He was also convicted in December of assaulting three correctional officers, officials said.
He was released at home halfway 15 months earlier, before his sentence expired on July 9, 2023, according to the prosecutor’s office.
This is not Souser’s first escape. In 2019, the teenager climbed over the fence of the Orange County Juvenile Detention Center in the middle of the night after somehow climbing onto the roof of the facility before escaping on foot.
He was arrested the same day at McDonalds in Anaheim, where he was peacefully detained by police
