Published: 3:36 pm April 17, 2022

Police arrested a second man after a severely injured man was found lying by the roadside in Brantham.

The man, in his 50s, was found with serious head injuries lying behind Rowley Close shortly after 4:35 a.m. Saturday, Suffolk police said.

He was taken by air ambulance to Adenbrook Hospital in Cambridge, but his condition improved and he was able to speak to police.

Forensic scientists believe that the injured man was most likely involved in a collision with a car that did not stop, but they remain open.

Police confirmed on Saturday that a 20-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident and taken to the Martlesham Detention Center for questioning.

A second man, also 20, was later arrested, police added.

Both were released on bail until Thursday, May 12.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was near Rowley Close in the early hours of Saturday morning, between 3.30am and 4.35am

Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact Suffolk police, citing crime reference number 22634/22.
