Following the improvement in the COVID-19 situation and high levels of vaccination, several European Union / European Economic Area countries have already lifted their entry rules for all travelers, including those from third countries.
The list of EU / EEA countries that have withdrawn their measures and now allow unrestricted entry for non-EU travelers is as follows:
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Hungary
- Iceland
- Ireland
- Latvia
- Norway
- Poland
- Romania
- Slovenia
- Sweden
Travelers from non-EU countries can currently enter the 11 EU / EEA countries, regardless of their vaccination status, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
This means that travelers outside the EU are not required to present a valid COVID Pass – a vaccination, reimbursement or test certificate – when reaching one of these countries.
All they have to do now is have the necessary travel documents, such as a valid passport and visa, if required.
Apart from being allowed to enter these countries without restrictions, travelers outside the EU no longer have to worry about internal measures for COVID-19, as the majority has canceled them.
Travelers from third countries, as well as those traveling within the EU, are no longer required to hold a vaccination, reimbursement or test certificate for access to bars, cafés, restaurants, museums, theaters, shopping malls and other major events.
In addition to the above-mentioned countries, Greece will also soon lift its entry restrictions for travelers from third countries. Greek Health Minister Thanos Pleuris said all travelers, regardless of country of origin, will be allowed to enter without restrictions from May 2nd.
In addition, they noted that in addition to allowing unrestricted entry of incoming passengers, they would also refuse internal measures for COVID-19. Travelers arriving in Greece during the summer season will not be required to have valid proof of COVID-19 when accessing various public places and events.
On the other hand, some other known destinations, such as Spain, France, Portugal, Italy and Germany, continue to comply with the restrictions. Travelers from third countries must provide valid proof when they reach these countries in order to avoid additional entry measures.
The decision of the above-mentioned EU / EEA countries to facilitate travel and its internal rules follows the improvement of the situation with COVID-19 within the continent.
Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that the European continent has reported 6,448,828 new cases of COVID-19 infection in the last seven days.
Regarding vaccination levels, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reveals that a total of 890,580,539 doses of vaccine have been administered so far in the EU / EEA countries. It was explained that 72.5 percent of the population had completed a primary course, and another 52.9 percent had received an additional dose of vaccine.
