DELTA – A deadly and devastating house fire killed three people inside.
It happened on Saturday when Delta’s house suddenly burst into flames.
Neighbor Dusty Murray said he saw the flames.
“I parked my truck in the driveway, jumped out and ran to the emergency services because they were sitting there with oxygen and everything, and I sat there with them and talked to them,” Murray said.
He said he and his family have become closer to the family by living across the street from them for the past eight years.
Over the years, his sons became especially close to one of the neighbors killed in the fire.
His electric wheelchair and my boys and all three of my boys – he was going out this time right here and they were going to get their bikes and he was going to tell them, “Ready, ready, go!” And they were just going to compete with each other up and down the road, “Murray said.
Christina Woodmaster is also a neighbor. She said that while she was worried that the flames would set her home on fire, firefighters and her family helped keep the flames under control.
“They started spraying our house because the wind kept moving and coming to our house. Fortunately, my father-in-law was here and he heard the explosion that happened, then he went out with the hose and started pouring from the side of our house and the shed, “said the Lumberjack.
“I’m glad he did, because if he didn’t, we’d lose the canopy,” she said.
Woodmaster said there are lessons to be learned from this fire.
“It definitely makes you think more about family and want to connect. All night and morning I sent messages to my family, “I love you. Miss you. We need to talk more, “Woodmaster said.
Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire.
