How did Orsol Gaal die?
Ms. Gaal reportedly told her son Leo that she was going out to watch a show on Friday night.
She is believed to have met a man before returning to the $ 2 million family home later that evening.
A neighbor spotted Mrs. Gaal in her yard in the hours before her death.
According to police, she was killed in the basement of the home. Sources familiar with the autopsy information say Ms. Gaal received nearly 60 stab wounds to her neck, torso, left arm, fingers and arm.
Slots in her palm and fingers looked like protective wounds.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect, believed to be the killer, dragging a sports bag on wheels containing her body at around 4.30am on Saturday.
The bag was discovered by a dog walk shortly after 8 a.m. on a popular pedestrian promenade on Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills, along a stretch of road that crosses a park.

She did not have an ID card with her. Police followed the bloody trail back to the family home on Juno St, half a mile away.
They found Leo alone on the top floor of the residence. Neighbors said he was handcuffed by police for questioning before being later released and acquitted of any involvement in the crime.
The New York Daily News reported that Leo told investigators he did not know where his mother was.
Detectives found no evidence of a burglary in the home and believe the killer was known to Ms. Gaal.
Officers reportedly questioned another teenager who lives in the same Forest Hill neighborhood.
Neighbor John Blankson told the Post that he saw Mrs. Gaal walking around their common backyard with her dog on Friday.
Freezing text messages
Unnamed police sources told PIX11 that the killer used Ms. Gaal’s cell phone to send a series of chilling text messages to her husband in the hours after her death.
The killer reportedly texted Howard Klein to say, “Your wife sent me to jail a few years ago … I’m back.”

He also made a sinister warning: “Your whole family is next.”
Mr Klein, who was traveling back to New York from Portland, told the New York Post that he feared his family was still in danger.
“There are concerns about our safety,” he told the Post. “Our lives are at risk.”
Mr Klein mentioned traveling outside the state in a deleted tweet. He also mentioned the new book by hedge financier Bill Browder about Vladimir Putin.
“I just landed in Portland, OR before re-evaluating Ann Arbor with my 17-year-old son,” Mr Klein wrote.
“I highly recommend the Freezing Order @Billbrowder, a person I’ve been following closely and admiring since I started on Wall Street in 1997, EMEA brokers and Russian fundraising hedges like Hermitage.”
The names of the suspects have not been named and it is not clear what the killer meant, and police describe the case as a “mystery”.

In a statement to The Independent, New York City police said police received a call by 911 at 8:11 a.m. Saturday after a suspicious bag of blood was spotted on the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Jackie Robinson Parkway.
Officers found Ms Gaal “unconscious and unresponsive” in her luggage bag and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
They followed a bloody trail a few blocks from her home on Juno St.

Police sources told the Post that officers answered a call to 911 at the family home in May 2020 after Mr Klein announced that his wife had disappeared. He later told police she had been found.
The family has lived in the Tudor-style home for about nine years, according to a neighbor.
Husband Kline founded the boutique financial consulting firm RK Equities in 2002 and worked for five years as an investment banker in Hungary.
He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in finance from Columbia University.
Mr. Klein is an expert on natural resources, including gold, iron ore and lithium, and speaks regularly at investment conferences, according to an online profile.
Terrible discovery
Glenn Van Nostrand was outside walking his two Rhodesian ridgebacks on Saturday morning when he came across Mrs. Gaal’s body in a bag.
At first he thought the Bauer bag might have been thrown away.
His suspicions rose as the dogs became agitated, as they approached the bag, he opened it and looked inside.
Mr Van Nostrand told The Post that he thought he may have been a model.
“It didn’t look very meaty. He was more of a crash test dummy. I thought maybe some equipment was being used for something. I didn’t think anything about it, “he told The Post.
He then noticed Ms. Gaal’s black jeans and waist and realized he was looking at a body, and called 911. He said Ms. Gaal seemed to be lying in a fetal position.
After the police showed up, he intended to leave his dogs at home before entering the station to make a full report.
However, his two dogs smelled bloodstains about 100 meters from his body.
“Some of the cops followed me and the dogs next to him,” he said.
The investigation continues
On Monday afternoon, police removed boxes from the family home in boxes and black plastic bags.
The family has not been seen at home since Saturday afternoon.
