As royal fans celebrated that Prince Harry, Megan Markle and Queen Elizabeth had a long-awaited reunion, there is a new insight that a secretly planned meeting does not always involve Prince Charles. According to a royal reporter, Harry’s time with his father was at the urging of his grandmother, who wanted to see her son and grandson talk.
NBC News royal commentator Daisy McAndrew told The Today Show that the secret meeting with the queen is hoped to be a “sign of things to come” as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to reconnect with the royal family. She added that “building these bridges” is likely to encourage the state’s family to join the senior royal for the first weekend of June for the Queen’s platinum anniversary. Although this possibility seems to be moving in a positive direction, it does not sound as if Harry wanted his trip to London to include Prince Charles.

McAndrew revealed that Harry had met his father “at the Queen’s insistence … for 15 minutes before meeting the Queen in her private apartment.” So, this gives people an idea of how things are going between the two – not so great, even if it was just a brief meeting. The royal expert also shared his views on the current state of relations between Harry and Prince William.

Things seem to be fine between Harry and the Queen, but she encourages her beloved grandson to fix the rest of the family’s fences. He may not want to do it for himself, but his 95-year-old grandmother would probably like to see a united front after several years of fighting in the palace.
