Ryan Tanehill is not present for the start of Titans’ off-season volunteering

Receiver AJ Brown did not show up for the start of the team’s off-season work. This is not surprising, given that he wants an extension of the contract.

But the news – via Buck Raising from AtoZsports.com – that quarterback Ryan Tanehill was also absent on Monday came as a surprise.

While training is voluntary and initially focuses on conditioning and strength training, Tanehil is facing a crucial season, which begins its fourth season in Tennessee. The quarterback led the Titans to the playoffs each of the previous three seasons, but the journey to the 2019 AFC Championship match was followed by one-time home losses each of the last two postseasons.

Tanehil threw three ugly interceptions in the loss of the division round by the Bengalis.

He has a $ 29 million base salary this season and $ 38.6 million, but he has no guaranteed money left on the deal after 2022.

“By the time he comes here, I’ll just let him enjoy his time with his family while I get in shape, get to know my teammates and the system that’s here,” said Austin Hooper, the new narrow-minded man through ESPN’s Turron Davenport.

Tanehil has not spoken to reporters since losing to Division 19-16 of Cincinnati in January, so it is unclear why he was not available on Monday or when he may appear. Kevin Bayard has admitted that coach Mike Vrabel was also absent on Monday, but is expected to return on Tuesday to lead the team’s meeting.
