The wanted woman crashed into the rails of Yonge metro station

A woman was injured when she was pushed on subway tracks and hit by a train at the TTC station in the center on Sunday night, Toronto police said.

The incident happened at Yonge station shortly after 9 p.m.

When ambulances arrived, they found the woman conscious and breathing, police said.

She was rushed to a trauma center in a serious but stable condition.

Police say they are looking for a suspected woman who escaped from the station and was last seen west on Bloor Street.

She was wearing a pink or gray hat, a lush black jacket, a gray hood, black pants, and a red bag.

It is not clear why the suspect pushed the woman.

The incident caused the TTC to suspend subway service on line 2 between St. George and Broadview. Trains on line 1 also bypassed Bloor-Yonge station due to the accident.

Regular traffic on both subway lines resumed shortly after 11 p.m.
