A Houston man is charged after a dead woman was found in a cardboard box

A Houston man has been charged in connection with the discovery of a woman found in a cardboard box over the weekend.

The woman was found on Sunday afternoon in a residential complex in block 7000 on Bisonet Street, the Houston Police Department announced.

Miguel Angel Moreno, 60, is accused of falsifying evidence, police said. The woman’s identity and the cause of death are yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science.

Her body was found when officers responded to reports of a suspicious package. The body of a woman was found inside, police said.

Investigators found that a man had taken the box out of his apartment and carried it through the complex in a handcart, police said.

They identified Moreno as the man and questioned him after the surveillance video led investigators to him, KRIV-TV authorities told Fox.

He was allegedly spotted moving a U-Haul box from his apartment to a rubbish bin.
