Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns leaves New Orleans Pelicans game 2 loss with a hamstring injury

PHOENIX – At a time of potential change in the series, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker fell with a hamstring injury and the New Orleans Pelicans came on with a huge finish to win 125-114 of Game 2 and even their series at 1-1 Tuesday night.

Booker made a fruitful first half, scoring 31 points and scoring seven 3 points. But he did not score in the third quarter and at 4:45 by the end of the period he injured his right hamstring, causing Jackson Hayes to drive into the transition. He immediately left the game and went to the locker room.

The change in momentum was noticeable, as Pelicans played brilliantly down. They were led by Brandon Ingram, who made a series of clutch strikes, scoring 26 of his 37 points in the second half. Ingram also has 11 rebounds and nine assists.

Suns coach Monty Williams told TNT that Booker will be further appreciated after the match.

Booker suffered a sprain of his left hamstring earlier this season and missed seven games in December. Last season, he suffered an injury to his left hamstring and missed four games. Match 3 is Friday in New Orleans.

Chris Paul had 14 assists for the Suns, but only shot 5 for 16. CJ McCollum added 23 for the Pelicans.
