This map shows the current evacuation order in Merritt in connection with last November’s floods.
The city of Merritt has revoked an order to evacuate more than 200 homes affected by the November floods.
According to a newsletter published online on the city’s website, 204 homes were removed on Tuesday by an evacuation order, leaving 66 properties still under an evacuation order.
The Coldwater River overflowed its banks after an intense rainstorm in mid-November, destroying municipal infrastructure and damaging private property.
The entire city was evacuated on November 15, but the vast majority of residents were allowed to return home in the coming weeks.
