The RCMP completed its investigation into the double shooting at Harris Point earlier this month.
Police received reports that a man and a woman were wounded by gunshot wounds shortly after midnight on April 4. Both were sent to hospital but later died of their wounds.
The investigation has established that the man, who is about 30 years old, is responsible for the death of the 20-year-old woman. The man died of self-inflicted wounds.
Police remind the public that there is help for people who have been abused by an intimate partner. Anyone who wants to report should call the police, and anyone who thinks they are in danger should call 911.
