A FAMILY shared footage of their terrifying encounter with a giant great white shark that has been circling their boat for more than an hour.
David Tuckfield, his wife Tanya and their 14-year-old son Shelby were fishing when the big beast approached their ship off the coast of Perth, Western Australia, last Friday.

The video shows the shark measuring approximately 14 feet in length as it tries to assemble into their prey – causing screams from the woman on board.
Soon the beast began to circle the boat before fixing itself on the ship’s engine, throwing it several times.
Just over an hour later, he finally decided to set sail as the family returned safely to shore.
Reflecting on the experience, the boat’s owner, David, told 9 News: “We had a big visitor from the deep, nice-sized white pointer.
“He tried to get a piece out of the engine, we were mesmerized.”
David said he went fishing often, but had never seen a shark so close to his boat or that size.
Adding that this is the highlight of the family’s Easter vacation, he described the shark as “a great majestic creature”.
He said: “We don’t appreciate them until you see them up close and this is their playground.”
Last month, chilling drone footage revealed how difficult it is to see sharks roaming the Australian coast while the beast appears to be hidden from view.
This comes after a British diving instructor was beaten to death by a 15-foot great white shark in Australia just days before safety ropes were installed.
Simon Nelist, 35, was killed by a predator just 150 meters from the beach at Buchanan Point, near Little Bay in Sydney, in the first fatal attack in the area in nearly 60 years.
Witnesses said they heard the victim cry for help in despair when the shark attacked in February.
The great white is said to have “attacked vertically” before retrieving the human body from the ocean.
Expert Lawrence Klebeck said the ferocious shark may have mistaken the swimmer – reportedly wearing a neoprene suit – for a seal when he shot and attacked the Briton.
It came just three months after another Briton, Paul Milachip, was attacked and killed off the coast of Western Australia.
The 57-year-old man was dragged underwater by a 14-foot-tall white man when he was killed in front of his terrified family.
The shark reportedly circled the boat for more than an hour before surfacing
