The sanctioned founder of a Russian digital bank, Oleg Tinkov, on Tuesday unveiled the nation’s “crazy” war against Ukraine and called on Western nations to give Russian leader Vladimir Putin “a clear path to save his face and stop this massacre.”
Tinkov, in a passionate Instagram post, also claims that “90% of Russians are AGAINST this war!” He also claims that the remaining 10% are “idiots” and that the Russian army has been exposed as “sh — y”.
The cover-up by the founder of TCS Group Holding and the digital Tinkoff Bank came weeks after the UK sanctioned Tinkov, freezing his personal assets in the UK. The United Kingdom has also sanctioned a number of other Russian individuals and legal entities.
Before Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, the 54-year-old Tinkov’s fortune was estimated at more than $ 4.42 billion.
But Forbes reported last month that he had lost his billionaire status as his stake in Tinkoff Bank fell since November.
“I do not see ONE beneficiary of this insane war!” Tinkov wrote in Russian in his Instagram post. “Innocent people and soldiers are dying. The generals woke up from a hangover, they realized they had a devil’s army.”
“And how good will the army be if everything else in the country is dirty and dirty in nepotism.”

“Kremlin officials are shocked that not only they but also their children will not go to the Mediterranean in the summer,” Tinkov wrote. “Businessmen are trying to save what’s left of property.”
“Of course, there are idiots who paint Z” – the symbol in Russia in support of the invasion of Ukraine – “but idiots in every country [are] 10% “.
“Dear Collective West, please give Mr Putin a clear path to save his face and stop this massacre,” Tinkov concluded. “Please be more rational and humanitarian.”
On October 1, Tinkov pleaded guilty to tax fraud in a U.S. criminal case, where federal prosecutors said he filed a false tax return when he renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2013.
He agreed as part of his sentence to pay more than $ 500 million in fines to settle this case, which is more than twice the amount he wanted to avoid paying taxes to the U.S. Treasury Department when he renounced his citizenship and tried to conceal large profits from shares from the sale of shares in TCS.
Tinkov is successfully fighting extradition from the United Kingdom to the United States after being indicted in 2019.
“In public records, Tinkov has revealed that he is undergoing an intensive UK-based plan to treat acute myeloid leukemia and graft-versus-host disease, making him immunocompromised and unable to travel safely for the foreseeable future,” the US Department of Justice said. . in October.
