Former school for tragic teenager Michael Tuhi paid tribute to the teenager, calling him “a kind and caring member of our school community.”
The 18-year-old father-in-law was attacked by up to eight men in front of a Monument Place internet cafe just before 6pm on Saturday, April 16th. Michael received multiple blunt force injuries during a brutal attack near London Road and died at Royal Liverpool Hospital later that evening.
Merseyside police are currently searching for those involved and have arrested a 34-year-old woman from Fazakerli on suspicion of helping an offender. The 18-year-old was honored, and his mother called him “a handsome, well-mannered, calm young man.”

His family paid tribute to their “good, caring and brave” son and called on anyone with information about his death to come out. This morning, one of Michael’s former schools paid tribute to the teenager, calling him a “kind and caring member of the community.” Trinity Catholic Academy in Vauxhall wrote on Twitter: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael Tuhi’s family in this sad sad moment.
“Michael was such a kind and caring member of our school community. Our staff is really devastated. Another former student was taken too early. Rest in peace, Michael.”
One of Michael’s teachers, while in elementary school, added: “So sad. Michael was a wonderful student in the classroom. My heart is with his wonderful family.”
On April 19, about 100 people gathered to attend the launch of a balloon in memory of Michael at the site of the tragic incident. Gold, blue, and heart-shaped balloons were released into the sky, and people wore shirts with a picture of the teenager.
Bouquets of flowers were left at the scene while the investigation into the murder continues. Detectives investigating the murder want to talk to people who have been spotted standing at a bus stop on London Road and passing TJ Hughes during the incident, who may have witnessed the incident. They also appealed to the driver of a vehicle that was seen to be driving incorrectly at the time.
