Vladimir Putin has blocked his eldest daughter from traveling abroad for fears she does not intend to return to Russia, according to reports from Moscow.
It is said that the scientist Dr. Maria Vorontsova wanted to fly to a “friendly” country for a vacation on a tropical beach to celebrate her 37th birthday next week.
She has planned a romantic getaway with 33-year-old Eugene Nagorny, her partner since the breakup of her marriage, according to the General SVR Telegram, which claims to have inside knowledge of the Kremlin.
“Putin has responded with a resounding refusal, boosting Maria’s security,” the report said.
“According to our information, the president’s eldest daughter did not plan to return to Russia.
The report does not say whether the reason for her alleged plan to hide is her father’s bloody war in Ukraine.
Maria – who has been sanctioned by Western countries for her family ties to Putin – has a half-Dutch son, now eight, by her ex-husband, Jorit Faassen.
