A person in custody in the horrific murder of mother Orsolya Gaal in New York

The suspect was charged early Thursday in the brutal murder of Queens mother Orsolia Gaal, with many sources telling The Post that he was her ex-lover.

David Bonola, 44, has been arrested and charged with murder, criminal manipulation and criminal possession of a weapon during a brutal stabbing over the weekend, New York police confirmed early Thursday.

Numerous sources told The Post that Bonola was the master, believed to have been Gaal’s lover – and that he had given his full confession since his arrest.

He was rescued thanks to a pair of blood-soaked boots left at Gaal’s majestic home in Forest Hills after she was stabbed nearly 60 times in the early hours of Saturday, sources said.

According to Cops Bonola of Richmond Hill, there have been no previous arrests.

Gaal, 51, went to a show at Lincoln Center with friends on Friday night – and then hung out at a bar in her neighborhood, as if expecting to meet someone who never showed up, sources said.

Once at home, she was repeatedly stabbed and then hidden in a black Bauer hockey bag, similar to the one belonging to her children.

A grainy video from the camera at the neighborhood doorbell catches a mysterious figure dragging a bloody bag from Gaal’s home around 4:30 a.m.

A local man walking his dog found the remains about four hours later.

Police quickly suspected that the killer knew Gaal because there were no signs of burglary and because the violence suggested he was personal and fueled by anger specifically against her, sources said.

They focused on her master, realizing that he had a romantic relationship that had gone south, sources said.

Bonola admitted that he struck after a dispute, police sources said.
