Johnny Depp Trial LIVE: Latest News of the Amber Heard Defamation Fight

Update the story See the full story

This Thursday, April 21, will be the seventh day of the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in Fairfax, Virginia. The reason for the lawsuit is that Depp is suing Hurd for $ 50 million after she wrote a column for domestic violence in the Washington Post in 2018, which he claims is incorrect and had negative consequences for his acting career. Hurd, meanwhile, backed his claims and filed a $ 100 million lawsuit against Depp.

For the past two days, Depp has stood up and discussed several moments of his relationship with Hurd, as well as anecdotes from his life. Depp will return to the podium today for the third day in a row as cross-examination rises by one notch after starting late Wednesday.

During yesterday’s session, Depp said that the aggressor was Hurd, not him, and explained that his ex-wife reflected the violence his mother had shown him.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star also discussed the scandalous incident in Australia, in which his finger was cut, human feces – which he claims are from Hurd or Hurd’s friend – were found on his side of the bed.

The court also heard an audio recording in which Hurd told Depp “you weren’t hit” and said that “I hit you” during an argument between the former couple.

As in the last few days, the process will resume at 10 a.m. local time, which is 3 p.m. in England and 4 p.m. in Central Europe.
