Johnny Depp explains why he did not leave Amber Heard
Johnny Depp testified for the second day in his defamation case for $ 50 million (£ 38.2 million) against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The cross-examination began at the end of the day and will continue on Thursday morning.
Hurd has been sued by Depp for alleging that he abused her in a 2018 post she wrote. Although she did not name him, his lawyers claim that her allegations made it difficult for the actor to get roles in films, turning him from “Cinderella in Quasimodo” to Hollywood, as described by the actor from “Pirates of the Caribbean”.
The actor recalled a traumatic childhood with a violent mother and said that his relationship with Hurd reflected this, accusing her of “harassing” him.
He described a tumultuous time together, including a battle in which his finger was cut off, a time when human feces were found on his bed, and what he said happened the night Hurd accused him of throwing a phone at her in their penthouse, shortly before the divorce proceedings began.
Hurd has filed a $ 100 million (£ 76.6 million) counterclaim against Depp for inconvenience and immunity from the actor’s allegations. Earlier, Depp lost a defamation lawsuit in Britain against The Sun over the same article by Hurd.
