A flight from San Francisco International Airport turned violent Wednesday night when boxing legend Mike Tyson struck a man allegedly disturbed on the plane. Tyson punched the man behind the boxing legend several times. It is alleged that the man was left with a bloody face after Tyson hit him.

According to TMZ Sports, the incident happened at 22:30 in the afternoon after Tyson boarded a JetBlue flight to Florida. TMZ also reported that the passenger hit by Tyson “was extremely drunk … and kept provoking the boxer in his place.” A Tyson spokesman added that the passenger threw a bottle of water at the 55-year-old man.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an accident during a flight with an aggressive passenger who started harassing him and threw a bottle of water at him while he was at his place,” the spokesman told ESPN.

Here’s what happened, as published by TMZ Sports (warning: the content of the video is graphic and violent).

Another passenger and witness to the incident told TMZ that Tyson did not look angry at first. However, things changed after Tyson took a selfie with the man. It is reported that after the photo, the man continued to try to talk to Tyson.

Tyson, then visibly upset, told the man to stop trying to talk to him. The man did not do it and witnesses claim that Tyson was physical at the time, TMZ reported.

After hitting the man several times in the face, witnesses say Tyson then got off the plane. TMZ Sports reports that the victim received medical assistance in the accident and went to the police for the incident. According to SF Gate, Tyson was in San Francisco on Wednesday to attend the City Cannabis Festival 420 at Golden Gate Park.

While San Francisco police declined to name the people involved in the incident, she said two individuals were detained at the airport and later released, according to ESPN. One of these subjects received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene, but gave “minimal details” of what happened and “refused to cooperate further with the police investigation.”
