OnePlus turned a new page in history today with the brand new OnePlus Ace smartphone. The first of its kind in the new series, the OP Ace has been announced in China with a slightly customized Dimensity 8100 Max chipset, 120Hz AMOLED screen and incredibly fast 150W charging – giving you 50% charge in 5 minutes. These specifications may sound familiar and there is a good reason, OnePlus Ace shares many similarities with Realme GT Neo3 – both companies are under the wing of BBK.

OnePlus Ace brings some not so common design features for OnePlus phone. It has a center punch for its 16MP selfie camera – the first for the brand, as previous OP phones relied on corner cutouts. There is no warning slider, which has been a major product for the brand since its inception. The AMOLED display has a 6.7-inch diagonal with FHD + resolution, as well as the aforementioned refresh rate of 120 Hz.
It has a 50MP main camera with OIS at the back, which is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.
MediaTek’s Dimenisty 8100 Max is at the forefront, supported by 8 / 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of memory. OnePlus didn’t explicitly say what Max has over the regular Dimensity 8100, other than improved AI capabilities, but we’ll make sure to let you know when more information comes up.
The phone comes with a 4500 mAh dual cell battery with 150 W SuperVOOC fast charge. OnePlus has implemented several battery protection measures that regulate heat and claims that the phone must retain more than 80% of the battery capacity after 1600 full charge cycles. Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 on top covers the software side.
OnePlus Ace will be available in black and blue. The base 8 / 128GB model will sell for 2499 CNY ($ 388). There is a model 8 / 256GB for 2699 CNY ($ 420), as well as a 12 / 256GB level for CNY 2999 ($ 465) and the best model 12 / 512GB for CNY 3499 ($ 543).
Open sales in China begin on April 26. OnePlus Ace is expected to make its international debut in India as the OnePlus 10R on April 28.
