An 83-year-old man from Brantford, who went missing on Saturday, was found dead in a wooded area in the northeastern part of the city.
On Wednesday afternoon, Brantford police said an OPP helicopter and a police emergency response team had been stationed in the ongoing search for Noriyuki Kikuji.
A few hours later, shortly before 7 pm, police issued a report that Kikuji was found dead in a wooded area near Welton Road around 3:50 p.m.
“This is not the result one hoped for,” Brantford police said. “The Brantford Police Department would like to express our sincere condolences to Mr. Kikuji’s family and friends.”

Kikuji was reported missing on Saturday, April 16th.
Public information has helped investigators focus further searches in the Lyndon Road and Garden Avenue areas, police said.
Investigators are currently working with the Coroner’s Office.
Police do not suspect dishonesty in Kikuji’s death.
