Frustrated that his former boyfriend Pierce Morgan was pressuring him for his lies about the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump appears to have slipped out of a pre-recorded outrageous interview as he shouted “turn off the camera,” according to a commercial Wednesday afternoon.
Hours after the video was released, however, a Trump spokesman provided an audio recording to NBC News, which appears to disprove that he angrily left the interview.
Speaking on April 25 on his new Fox Nation and Talk Piers TV show Morgan Uncensored, the first-ever celebrity apprentice winner has repeatedly questioned the former president’s impeachment twice over his baseless allegations that he lost only the 2020 presidential election due to widespread voter fraud. (Talk TV, a new British network owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., is set to debut on Monday.)
Trump insulted Morgan in response, calling him a “fool” and adding that he was “more honest” than the veteran of the British tabloid in the preview video released on Wednesday.
In addition, when Morgan told him that the 2020 election was “free and fair,” the disgraced former president growled, “Only a fool would say that.” In the end, Morgan noted that more than a year later, the former president and his supporters still “have not presented hard evidence” in support of his unusual election claims, only to allow Trump to throw a few more offensive elections in his path.
“I don’t think you’re real,” Trump said, sweating profusely before telling Morgan he was “very dishonest.” At the end of the short video, Trump was seen leaving after shouting “turn off the camera.”
“Very unfair,” he repeated as he walked away.
But according to a recording made available to NBC by Trump spokesman Taylor Budovich, the two men laughed together at the end of the interview, with no indication that he had escaped.
“It was a great interview,” Morgan said at the end of the audio, followed by Trump, who agreed.
“We have nothing to comment on other than public information (ie the video and Pierce’s column in the NY Post),” a News Corp spokesman told NBC News.
“This is a pathetic attempt to use President Trump as a way to revive the career of a failed TV presenter,” Budovic told NBC News. “This is another example of President Trump being right, as he told Pierce Morgan that the host was dishonest in his face and that Pierce, for the first time in his life, was not disappointed.
In a column written for the New York Post on Wednesday, Morgan was more annoyed about his talks with the former president. In particular, he said that Trump tore Morgan apart because of his belief that Trump’s actions on January 6 led to the Capitol uprising.
“Then you are a fool!” And you didn’t study, “exclaimed the ex-president.
However, Morgan claimed that he managed to prevent Trump from initially leaving the interview, pointing out the recent hole in one of the former president.
However, after Trump boasted about his golf achievements, Morgan said Trump gave him a “hateful” look before asking for the cameras to be turned off.
